JONI C. NELSON Vice President of Human Resources     Joni Nelson, vice president of Human Resources, has been a part of Ilitch Holdings, Inc., since September 2004. She joined the Ilitch companies with 23 years of Human Resources leadership experience at organizations such as CDI Corporation, Inca Computer Company, Frontier Communications and Hardees Food Systems. Nelson provides expertise and leadership to the Human Resources functions within the businesses by developing and improving Human Resources initiatives. She received the Athena Award for Southeastern Michigan in 2008.  The award is given to women who have reached a high degree of professional excellence while also assisting women to reach their full potential.  Nelson is also active in the community and serves as board chair for Mentoring Solutions/Winning Futures, a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the impact of mentoring. Nelson earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Oakland University in 1982 and her SPHR certification from the Society of Human Resources in 1995.
